About Us – Borno State Ministry of Local Government and Emirate Affairs
The Borno State Ministry of Local Government and Emirate Affairs is the government body responsible for overseeing the administration, coordination, and supervision of the 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and the traditional emirate institutions within the state. The Ministry ensures effective governance at the grassroots level and preserves the rich cultural heritage embodied by the emirates.
It plays a critical role in strengthening local governance structures, promoting rural development, fostering collaboration between the state and traditional institutions, and enhancing service delivery to ensure that government impact is felt by every citizen, especially at the community level.
